You learn something new every day..
“You learn something new every day” so the saying goes, or as Grandpa Simpson said “Homer, you’re dumb as a mule and twice as ugly! If a strange man offers you a ride, I say, take it!”
My blog posting to stubbornlikeamule.net has increased from nothing in nearly 2 years to almost daily as I’ve been telling tails of our travels and I’ve been enjoying it, and I’ve also worked out how to transfer the feeds to my facebook profile.
In an effort to keep this pace up I’ve decided to create this new category on the blog. The goal is that every day I learn a new/interesting or silly thing I’ll write a quick 2 line post here.
So for today’s tidbit:
The term “John Hancock” that you often hear the Americans use in the movies, comes from the fact that “John Hancock” was the first person to sign the US Declaration of Independence in 1776.
My Source: Book – Stephen Fry in America by Stephen Fry
Wikipedia: John Hancock
