USA 2009 – San Francisco Day 6

Well it’s taken a couple of hours but I’m almost up to date!

Day six we decided we’d hit up Golden Gate Park so it was back on the N to 19th & Judah and a 2-3 block walk to the Academy of Sciences.

Here we wandered around the exhibits including the aquarium, planetarium and the living roof.

After the Academy of Sciences we’d planned a stroll around the park, but the day’s of holidaying caught up with us and we were running out of steam. We headed back to base with the idea we’d walk a bit further west up Haight Street and get some lunch. The walk was longer and hillier than expected but we found a nice looking spot and had lunch at a place called the Squat and Gobble cafe. The food was good, but the service a bit average (which made me re-consider the whole purpose of tipping again) and the atmosphere was terrible with some shocking generic CD of covers blaring over the stereo.

After lunch we ambled back to base for an afternoon nap before catching the number 6 bus back up Haight to meet the boys at Haight and Ashbury where we wandered down a block to the Magnolia Pub and Brewery for dinner and some locally brewed beers.

Back on the bus where the homeless again provided some entertaining conversation and back to base to bring day 6 to a close.

Now we’re all on the same page, It’s off to do day 7!
