It’s been 3 weeks since we returned home and I’ve had it in the back of my mind ever since that I should really finish off the holiday blogging with a trip summary. But with moving house, Christmas and organising a wedding it kind of slipped down the list a bit.

USA 2009 – New Orleans Days 4, 5 and 6
Day 4, the girls headed out early because they wanted to go to the Mardi Gras museum. Pat and I headed out a bit later as I was still recovering from the 4am wake up. We headed into the French Quarter looked at a couple of galleries and grabbed a coffee.

USA 2009 – New Orleans Day 2 and 3
I’m writing this at 4am on Day 4 in New Orleans as I struggle with a patch of insomnia. It’s taken me a few days to get a handle on this city, and I admit on Day 1 and 2 I was not really enjoying it that much.
From the neighbourhood that we are staying in I got the feeling that we were having a holiday in Davoren Park or Kilburn.

USA 2009 – New Orleans Day 1
A bit of a non-event today as we recovered from the overnight flights.
Departed SFO at 12.35am (Saturday morning) via Houston arriving at 5.30am (not much sleep there a 3 hour flight due to the time change). Then 2 hours in the airport before a quick up and down to NOLA. Then into a cab driven by a non-local, local who didn’t know where our accommodation was, so got us to the general vicinity
